Aline is our payroll debit card with paper checks, which provides you with the option to use a debit card loaded with your paycheck amount each pay period, or use the paper checks that come with the Aline service. 

What is Aline?

Aline is a debit card/check system issued by our payroll provider, ADP. The Aline debit card with checks replaces the paper checks that are issued by the Payroll team. Highlights of this program include:

• Aline provides you with the option to either use a debit card, pre-loaded each pay period with your net pay check amount or a paper check option, so you can write your entire pay amount to yourself for deposit in your account(s) (see below for instructions). 
• Use the debit card as you would any other debit card, to pay bills in stores, by phone or online.
• Receive e-mail and text alerts letting you know when you get paid, your daily balances, and your account status.
• Download the free mobile app to easily manage your paycheck.

Things to Keep in Mind

• Once you receive the Aline Debit Card with Checks you must decide which one to activate - the debit card or the check - as you cannot use both at the same time or switch from one to the other every pay period.
• The Aline check can be used as a standalone self-issued payroll check made payable to yourself to receive your full net pay if you wish to continue receiving your pay through a paper check. If you are enrolled in the Aline Pay by ADP program, you will not be required to use or activate the Aline debit card by ADP and may use the Aline Check to receive your full net pay.
• If and when using Aline Checks, please keep the following in mind: 
  • On pay day, the check must be made payable to yourself for your full net pay. Call 1.877.237.4321 to authenticate your Aline Check.  
  • Once the Aline check is authenticated, the representative will provide you with your 6-digit authentication number, which must be recorded on the check. Funds for that check will immediately be deducted from your Aline Card balance to allow payment when you presented the check amount of the check will be returned.
  • The Aline Check can be deposited in your account or cashed for free at any branch of the bank printed on the check. For the bank to cash the check, you MUST first call to authenticate the check. 

How To Enroll

ADP manages the Aline Debit Card program. The Payroll team can assist with requests to have any staff paychecks deposit into an Aline Debit Card account. Contact Finance's Payroll subteam for enrollment and additional information.  

If you don’t set up payment elections in Workday and/or don’t contact Finance's Payroll subteam for Aline Debit Card enrollment, your paychecks will be mailed via United States Postal Service (USPS) to the address in your Workday profile. It will take 5 – 15 business days for delivery.
